Great Music on Sundays @5 is Provincetown’s longest-running concert series of music of our world. Since 1999, more than 350 concerts presented by more than 150 performers have provided music without borders for thousands of concertgoers and lovers of great music. Concerts include classical, Broadway, international, piano, choral and organ music. The events are a potpourri of music from across the centuries and around the globe. There is something for everyone at Great Music on Sundays @5.
John Thomas produces the concert series with the gracious help of many volunteers, an Advisory Council of enthusiastic and talented leaders in our community, and the support of the Meeting House Instrument Trust, which raised more than $140,000 in the 1990s to restore the organ and the grand piano that was donated by Will Sherwood and Blaine Bershad (in memory of David Pilger). The Meeting House Instrument Trust in 2001 designated the Great Music on Sundays @5 concert series as its successor organization for the “purposes of presenting concerts of fine music, musical education, and musician development programs centered in the Meeting House venue.”
