Join us for an extraordinary special performance as we travel back to the end of 1939 to an imaginary sound stage with a live audience for a radio program featuring an ON AIR light, the memorable welcome chime, an announcer, popular songs of the era, commercials, radio sound effects and a stellar ensemble. Fanny Mendelssohn’s colorful and deeply romantic String Quartet shines the spotlight on a gifted composer whose work was stifled during her lifetime. Her music is complimented by brother Felix’s reaction to her death in his stormy String Quartet in F minor. Their music and lifelong connection are a fascinating artistic legacy of creativity and tragedy.

Music and poetry enhance our inner souls along the journey of life. Ralph Vaughan Williams created “Songs of Travel” from the poems of Robert Louis Stevenson describing love, memory and the passage of time. What endures? What is left behind for posterity? Béla Bartók crossed borders and cultures to collect Hungarian and Romanian folk melodies and transform them into classical music deeply connected to its roots. Music, like life, is a continual journey.

Brilliant entertainers from Cape Cod and beyond come together for a special presentation of our concert series’ signature event: a Broadway extravaganza! The curtain rises with stellar performers offering songs with pizzazz and elegance from musicals throughout the decades. 

A fascinating ensemble of Provincetown-based performers take the stage for a musical immersive journey through underground performance art, bohemian life, the avant-garde & contemporary subculture. A memorable time will be had by all.

An extravaganza inspired by this year’s Provincetown Carnival theme: “Deep Sea Disco!” A dazzling repertoire of songs under, on, in or by the sea!

From the luminous clarity of Haydn to the refined color of Saint-Saëns and the rich, glowing textures of Glière, this program traces the shifting interplay of light and shadow across French, German and Russian traditions. Featuring the magnificent Saint-Saëns Piano Quartet op. 41.

Heroes & villains … the good, the bad & the ugly! A cornucopia of characters from Broadway’s musical catalogue!

A long trail of creatively and/or financially bereft shows, some barely lasting a fortnight, nevertheless brought into the performance world dozens of unexpected musical gems. Join us for this very special concert of Broadway’s hidden treasures among the debris.

So golden was the promise, so mighty was the dream. This concert honors the millions who have journeyed from many homelands of origin to the United States of America with the hopes that future generations would have better lives: from the homeland, dreaming, planning to leave for a new one, the journey from old to new, and to the new homeland’s realities, struggles and triumphs. An inspirational ensemble of singers celebrate the stories through music without borders.

A fitting finale to our 28^th season, we conclude with another Broadway music spectacle with stellar singers who love to perform songs from musicals famous and obscure. One big finale after another… musical fireworks from Broadway to Provincetown!
